A Letter from Pastor Jim

Thursday, June 25, 2020

Members and Friends of Grace Presbyterian Church,

The Session of Grace Presbyterian Church understands that among its primary responsibilities are the care and nurture of our community and the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. During this time of COVID-19 and unprecedented regulations for worship and social distancing the Session has struggled with the question of when to re-institute in-person worship at the Central and West Campus locations.  The Session met Monday, June 22 and decided to postpone re-opening worship until July 19th pending a review of the health guidelines set by the State of Nevada at a called Session meeting, Monday, July 13th

Please understand that this decision was made by the Session with the health of our congregation in mind.  We are an at-risk population and the current regulations and directives from the state do not support in-person worship in confined spaces.  As the leadership of the church we are working on policies and procedures that will provide for safe worship conditions and protect our congregants.

The Session of Grace Presbyterian Church will meet on Monday night, July 13, 2020. At that time, we will review the current regulations of the state, information regarding the ongoing spread of the virus and steps being taken to combat it.  At that time, we will vote whether to move ahead with the opening on July 19th.

This continues to be a difficult time for the Church.  We believe that we are the community of faith and it is increasingly difficult to not be able to gather together for worship and fellowship. Please continue to pray for our church and for Las Vegas.
